What Kera doesn't do here
Things people ask about that Kera doesn't support, with a workaround where there is one.
Profit and loss for a Landlord (solo) account
Profit and loss, Property profitability, Fee revenue by type and Trust liability by owner are for Organization accounts only. Workaround: run Cash flow statement, T776 rental income or Schedule E rental income.
Edit an income or expense after saving it
Kera doesn't reopen saved income or expense entries. Workaround: void it with a reason and record it again.
Edit a posted journal entry
Posted entries can only be voided. Workaround: void and post a corrected entry.
Delete transactions, bills or invoices
Kera never deletes accounting records. Workaround: void them; they stay visible under the Voided status.
Disconnect or remove a bank account
Kera doesn't disconnect bank accounts. Workaround: contact Kera support.
Reclassify a bank account that has activity
Kera doesn't change the type of an account with an opening entry or bank activity. Workaround: contact Kera support.
Pay vendors or move money between banks
Recording a bill payment or transfer only updates the books. Workaround: pay or transfer in your bank, then record it.
Approve a bill twice by the same person
The second approval must come from a different user.
Two-person bill approval for landlords
The bill approval threshold is an organization setting.
Edit or delete recurring bill or invoice templates
Kera only pauses and resumes them. Workaround: pause and create a new template.
See or stop recurring income and expense templates
Kera has no list for them. Workaround: contact Kera support.
Send recurring invoices automatically
Kera creates them as drafts. Workaround: send each draft from the Invoices tab.
Invoice a tenant from the Invoice form
The Invoice form bills a customer or the property owner. Workaround: charge tenants through the lease's rent schedule (chapter 10), or split a cost to a tenant on an expense or bill.
Edit a business invoice's customer or email after it's created
Workaround: void it and create a new one.
Partial refunds of online invoice payments
Kera refunds the full payment only. Workaround: contact Kera support before refunding part of a payment in Stripe.
Reverse an invoice write-off
Workaround: contact Kera support.
Pay out or apply a tenant refund owed on a written-off cost share
Kera flags it but doesn't settle it. Workaround: refund the tenant outside Kera and contact Kera support.
Claim GST/HST on bank-feed expenses
Bank rows carry no tax. Workaround: record taxable expenses with Add transaction and match the bank row to them.
Chart of accounts, audit log, multi-entity reports, statement branding or QuickBooks mode for landlords
These screens are organization-only.
Delete or rename GL accounts
Workaround: deactivate the account and add a new one.
Inter-company eliminations in consolidated reports
Kera adds entities together; it doesn't eliminate transactions between them.
Budgets and a Budget vs. actual report
Kera doesn't offer budgets.
File taxes or issue T4A / 1099 slips
Kera prepares summaries only. Workaround: give them to your accountant or filing software.
Write to QuickBooks or import QuickBooks into Kera
QuickBooks mode is a read-only view. Workaround: use Import from another platform (chapter 02) to bring past data in.
Use QuickBooks and Kera accounting at the same time
Choosing QuickBooks replaces the Accounting page with the QuickBooks view.
Nightly trust discrepancy alerts
Kera doesn't deliver this alert to anyone. Workaround: generate the Trust Reconciliation Worksheet regularly.
Automatic "verify books" integrity check
Kera has no button to run one. Workaround: run a Trial balance and Balance sheet.
Late fees for Canadian landlords
Kera doesn't charge late fees in Canada.
Keep a half-finished transaction form
Closing the form discards your answers.
A trial balance CSV
Workaround: use Export all accounting (ZIP), which includes a trial balance snapshot.
Certify trust compliance
The worksheet and safeguards are best-practice tools, not a legal determination under TRESA. Workaround: have your broker of record or accountant review.
