How does the Add transaction form work?
ForLandlordsProperty managers
Who can do this
Landlord; Organization users with Create Transactions.
Where to find it
Accounting → Add transaction.
Steps
- Click Add transaction. The screen What are you recording? opens with three groups:
- Money in: Income (money received: rent, fees, reimbursements) and Invoice (bill a tenant, owner or customer).
- Money out: Expense (money already spent) and Bill (a vendor bill you'll pay later).
- Other: Journal entry (manual debits and credits).
- Pick a card. Income, Expense, Bill and Invoice open on Start from a document; Journal entry opens on What is this entry?.
- Answer one step at a time. Each step's button reads Skip while nothing is needed, or Continue once you've entered something. Answered steps fold into a one-line summary; click Edit to reopen one.
- Watch the preview on the right (Where the money goes for income and expenses, Invoice preview for invoices).
- Click the save button in the header (for example Add transaction).
What happens next
The form closes and the new row appears in the list. If you change an earlier answer, the steps that depend on it show Check this and must be continued again before you can save.
Good to know
- Change type (header) returns to the picker. If you've entered anything, Kera asks "Discard your answers?" first.
- Closing with answers entered asks for confirmation.
- On a phone, the preview is a bar at the bottom of the screen; tap View details to open it and Hide details to close it.
Limits
Kera doesn't keep a half-finished form. Closing it discards your answers.
