What happens when Kera says "This transaction looks like one you already recorded"?

ForLandlordsProperty managers

Who can do this

Anyone saving an income, expense, bill, invoice, journal entry or payment.

Where to find it

A dialog over the form, after you click save.

Steps

  1. Compare the card (the closest earlier record: payee, type, status, amount, date and who entered it). Open "N more similar records" to see others.
  2. Click Go back to my transaction to return with your answers intact, or It's a separate transaction, record it to save anyway.

What happens next

Going back saves nothing. Recording anyway saves the entry and remembers you confirmed it.

Good to know

The same check runs for bills ("This bill looks like one you already recorded", or "Bill #… from … is already recorded" for a matching reference), invoices, journal entries with a vendor, bill payments and invoice payments. Income never matches an expense or bill.

Limits

If the check is slow or fails, the entry saves without a warning; Kera then stacks the copies on the list a few seconds later (see "What does a row reading '2 entries' mean…").
