Who can prepare, sign, serve and void notices?
ForLandlords
Who can do this
Landlords can do everything in this chapter on their own leases. Organization admins can too. Organization members depend on their role.
Where to find it
Settings → Roles & Permissions (organizations). See the Settings chapter for editing roles.
Steps
The permissions that matter here:
- Edit Leases: needed for Increase rent and for every rent increase action (prepare, sign, serve, edit, delete). Serving a rent increase needs Edit Leases even if the role has Serve Notices, because serving it changes the rent.
- Terminate Leases: needed to see End lease and to prepare termination notices and agreements, and to answer a tenant's request to end by agreement.
- Force-Terminate Leases: needed for the Force-terminate button in the End lease composer.
- Prepare Notices: needed to create a notice and to sign one ("You need permission to create notices to sign this notice. Ask your administrator to enable it.").
- Serve Notices: needed to serve or deliver a notice from the Notices list.
- Delete Notices: needed to void a notice, void an agreement or void a tenant's notice by agreement.
- View Notices: needed to see the Notices section.
Good to know
An organization member restricted to assigned properties can only act on leases at those properties. An archived lease is read-only for everyone: only View notice and View certificate of service remain.
