What do I need before I can order a screening?

Who can do this

Landlord, Organization admin, members with Request Screening.

Where to find it

Any Request Screening / Request screening button. Kera checks these in order and shows a full-page screen titled Order screening for the first one that isn't met.

Steps

  1. An active Kera plan. Without one, the plan paywall opens. If the plan lapses while the page is open, you see Subscription required with View plans.
  2. A connected Kera wallet with your identity verified through Stripe. Otherwise you see Verify your identity to order screenings. Click Set up wallet, finish Stripe's steps, and Kera brings you back to the order. This also shows when Stripe hasn't finished verifying you yet.
  3. A business address on your wallet. Kera uses it to work out sales tax. Otherwise you see Add your business address to order screenings with Set up wallet.
  4. The one-time screening agreement. See the next article.

Good to know

Organization members who aren't admins can't set up the wallet. They see "An admin on your account needs to set up the wallet first…" with only Close.

Troubleshooting

We couldn't load screening options with Try again is a temporary error. If every check is unavailable, a full-page message says no screening checks can be ordered right now. Try later, or contact Kera support (support@getkera.com) if it persists.
