How do I turn on online rent collection for a lease the tenant already accepted?

Who can do this
Landlord, Organization admin, Organization members with Edit Leases. Needs a connected Kera wallet.
Where to find it
Lease page → Actions → Turn on online payments (also from Edit's "Collect rent online through Kera?" card).
Steps
- Click Turn on online payments. After a short load, the composer opens with answers prefilled and a What happens panel on the right.
- Who pays the rent?: pick the tenant (each card reads "Accepted · <email>" or "Invited, not accepted yet · <email>"). With more than four tenants it's a dropdown.
- How can they pay?: turn on Credit card and/or Bank debit, and choose Who pays the transaction fee? (The tenant or Me).
- When should the first automatic payment be?: pick First automatic payment (after today, before the lease ends). Click Continue; Kera checks the date ("Checking which months come before it…").
- What about rent from <start> to <first payment>?: choose Already collected outside Kera, Invoice it through Kera or Nothing owed.
- If invoicing: Which months should Kera invoice? Months already recorded show "Recorded as paid" and can't be ticked.
- Check What happens (first payment, invoices sent now, who pays, deadline), then click Turn on payments.
What happens next
"Online payments are on" / "Rent is collected through Kera from <date>." The payer gets an "[Action needed] Online payments are on for <address>" email and an in-app notice, and sees Set up payments on their lease. They must confirm a payment method before the first payment date; if they don't, billing starts the following month. Any invoices for earlier months are sent at once.
Limits
Only offered on Active leases with payments off, a wallet connected and Edit Leases. Record-only leases must be invited and accepted first.
Troubleshooting
- "Turn on at least one way to pay.": switch on card or bank debit.
- "Tick at least one month, or choose another answer for the rent before billing starts.": tick a month or change step 5.
- "Continue on the first payment step so Kera can check the date.": you changed the date; click Continue on that step.
- "Pick a date after today, so the tenant has time to set up payment." or a date-before-lease-end message: change the date.
- "Couldn't turn on payments" with a reason (for example the wallet was disconnected): the composer stays open; fix the cause and retry.
- Closing asks "Close without turning on payments?" ("Nothing has been changed on the lease yet. You can come back to this from the lease page.").
