How do I save my own lease as a template?
ForLandlordsProperty managers
Who can do this
Landlord, Organization admin, Organization members with Create Leases and Upload Documents.
Where to find it
Add lease → Add the lease document, after uploading a PDF.
Steps
- Upload a PDF with Upload a lease.
- Inside the document card, under the signers, tick Save as a template for <Province> leases ("Next time, start your lease from it.").
- Save the lease with Add lease.
What happens next
A toast confirms the template was saved. On your next lease in that province, the large card is your template ("Your <Province> lease", badge "Your template", "Saved from a lease you uploaded. Kera places the signature fields for this lease.") with Use this template. More templates are listed under Your templates.
Good to know
- In provinces where Kera fills no standard form (for example Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba), the box is ticked by default and the step opens with "<Province> doesn't publish a standard lease form, so start from your own lease." In Ontario it is unticked by default.
- In Quebec and British Columbia, the step explains that Kera can't fill the province's own form (Quebec's mandatory lease, BC's RTB-1), so you start from your own lease.
Limits
Only PDFs can be templates; a Word file shows no save box. The standard lease, a template or an AI-generated lease can't be saved as a template. Reusable templates with merge fields, bulk sending or other provinces' official forms aren't available.
