How do I attach my own lease document?

ForLandlordsProperty managers

Who can do this

Landlord, Organization admin, Organization members with Create Leases.

Where to find it

Add lease → Add the lease document (Optional).

Steps

  1. Under Or bring your own, click Upload a lease ("PDF or Word. You place the signature fields."). Your computer's file picker opens.
  2. Choose a PDF or Word file.
  3. The document card shows a page thumbnail, the file name and "Uploaded · <N> pages · <file name>", then Place signature fields and a More options (⋮) menu with Download and Remove.
  4. With invites on, the card lists Who signs (each tenant, then you). Each signer has a "No fields yet" badge until you place fields.
  5. Click Continue, or Skip to add no document ("Not now").

What happens next

Under the card: "Tenants sign in Kera after you add the lease." and a Check compliance link. To collect signatures, see "How do I send the lease for signature from Add lease?".

Good to know

Organization admin on a property with an owner: your signer row reads "You, for <owner>" with "Landlord's agent · <company>".

Troubleshooting

"Couldn't upload the lease document" on save: nothing was saved; try Add lease again. If the message says changing a lease document needs permission to create or edit leases, the member's role is missing that permission.
