How do I add part of a home (a basement, a room)?

Who can do this

Landlords, and Organization members with Create Properties.

Properties → Add Property → Part of a home.

Choose Part of a home.
"Which part are you renting out?": choose Basement (a self-contained lower level), A room (one room in a shared home) or Other (a coach house, a floor, a suite or a shared space). Enter "How much of the home is it?" as a percentage. To work it out, divide the rented area by the whole home and multiply by 100: a 250 sq ft basement in a 1,000 sq ft home is 25%. Continue.
Answer "Where is it?" and "What should we call it?".
Organizations: answer the owners and fee steps.
"Anything else to note?" (optional), then Add property.

"Property added". It behaves like a single-unit property and is listed under the Partial property type.

There is no "What does it cost to own?" step when adding part of a home. You can fill those costs in later from Edit.

"Choose which part", "Enter how much of the home it is", or "Enter a percentage from 0 to 100" (any value from 0 to 100, decimals allowed).
