How do I add a multi-unit building and its units?

ForLandlordsProperty managers

Who can do this

Landlords, and Organization members with Create Properties. Needs an active subscription; a Landlord also needs room on their plan's unit limit.

Where to find it

Properties → Add Property → Multi-unit.

Steps

  1. Choose Multi-unit.
  2. "Where is it?": search and check the address. There is no Unit number field here; unit numbers come from the units.
  3. "What should we call it?": Display name, optional photo and tags.
  4. "What units does it have?":
    • Select Add a unit, enter Unit number and, optionally, Display name, Parking spot (Cars), Square footage (Sq ft), Unit description and Notes, then Save unit.
    • Or select Add a range, enter First unit number and Last unit number (for example 101 and 110) and select Add units. Kera creates one unit per number and skips numbers already listed.
    • Each unit appears as a row with Edit and a remove (X) button. Continue when the list is right.
  5. Answer the optional steps (and, for organizations, the owners and fee steps), then select Add property and units.

What happens next

"Property added". The list row shows the unit count and how many are vacant. Kera creates the building and all its units together; if any part fails, nothing is created.

Limits

  • Up to 200 units per range and up to 499 units in the composer ("You can add up to 499 units here. Add the rest from the property page."). Add more later from the building's page.
  • Unit numbers must be unique on the building, ignoring capitals and extra spaces.

Troubleshooting

  • "Add at least one unit": a building needs at least one unit.
  • "Enter a unit number": the unit row is missing its number.
  • "Unit numbers must be unique": two rows share a number.
  • Range errors: "Enter whole unit numbers, like 101 and 110", "The last unit number comes after the first", "Add up to 200 units at a time", "Every unit in that range is already listed".
  • "Couldn't add property": neither the building nor any unit was created. Your answers are kept; try again.
