How do I add an existing tenant to a lease?

Who can do this

Landlord, Organization admin, Organization members with Edit Leases.

Where to find it

Lease page → Tenants tab → Add tenant (or the + button).

Steps

  1. Click Add tenant. Search ("Search tenants…") and tick one or more tenants.
  2. Click Add.
  3. Or click Add new tenant to create a tenant in the Add tenant composer; they're linked to this lease when you finish.

What happens next

No toast. The new row appears with an invite button, and the tenant's own page lists this lease. The tenant isn't invited until you click Invite to Kera on their row.

Limits

A lease can have at most five tenants. Tenants can be added on Awaiting acceptance and Record only leases; an Active lease's roster is changed by editing the lease.

Troubleshooting

"Couldn't link tenants": the link failed. Escalate with the lease and tenant names if it repeats (seen on staging when linking a tenant with no email).
