How do I set up GST/HST on my fees?

Who can do this
Organization users with Configure Accounting Settings.
Where to find it
Settings → Accounting → Registered for GST/HST.
Steps
- Turn on Registered for GST/HST.
- Choose the fee tax treatment: Tax added on top of the fee (exclusive) or Fee already includes tax (inclusive).
- Enter GST/HST number (optional); it saves when you click away.
What happens next
Management fees carry the property's provincial GST/HST, and new invoices fill the tax automatically. Turned off, fees and invoices carry no tax.
Troubleshooting
If posting a management fee fails with a setup message, this setting has never been saved; set it on or off.
