How do I edit a property?
ForLandlordsProperty managers
Who can do this
Landlords, and Organization members with Edit Properties.
Where to find it
Property → Edit (top card).
Steps
- Select Edit. The Edit property composer opens with every step answered.
- Select Edit on the step you want to change: address, name, photo and tags, costs, or notes, parking, mailbox and locker. To replace the photo, remove it (X, "Remove photo") and drop a new one.
- The preview's Changed list shows each change ("old → new"). On a phone the bottom bar counts them.
- Select Save changes.
What happens next
No toast; the composer closes and the page shows the changes. Only the fields you changed are saved.
Good to know
- Part of a home: the part and percentage show as "A room · 25% of the home" and can be changed.
- Multi-unit building: the units step is locked ("… · managed on the property page"). Open units closes the composer and takes you to the Units tab.
- Organizations: the owners and fee steps are locked ("… · managed in contract details"). Edit contract details (with Edit Properties) opens the Contract Details dialog.
- Closing with unsaved changes asks you to confirm first.
Limits
You can't change a building's or part-of-a-home's kind, and owners and fees aren't edited in this composer.
Troubleshooting
"Couldn't save property" keeps your changes in the composer and saves nothing (often a permission change). "Couldn't upload property image": the photo failed, try a PNG or JPEG under 2MB. The Edit button is greyed out on an archived property; restore it first.
