How do I ask the tenant to pay the deposit through Kera?

Who can do this

Landlord, Organization admin, Organization members with Create Transactions.

Where to find it

Lease page → Actions → Deposit → Request it through Kera payments.

Steps

  1. Available on an Active online-payments lease whose payer has set up a payment method and that has no deposit yet.
  2. Choose Request it through Kera payments, enter the amount under the province cap.
  3. Click Send deposit invoice.
  4. To share the link yourself, open Deposit and click Copy Payment Link (toast "Payment link copied").

What happens next

Toast "Deposit invoice sent". The deposit card shows a pending row (Open, invoice id, sent date, due "On receipt"). The tenant gets "Your deposit invoice is ready" by email and in-app. When they pay, the deposit is recorded as Held "via Kera payments" automatically.

Good to know

A lease set up with the deposit on "Its own bill, due at signing" creates this invoice automatically when the tenant accepts.

Troubleshooting

  • "Deposit invoice not sent yet": billing is still being set up; wait a moment and send again.
  • "Couldn't bill deposit" with a reason: fix the reason and retry.
  • "Deposit invoice already open": the tenant already has one.
  • "Couldn't copy payment link": the browser blocked clipboard access.

Limits

The copied link is Kera's own pay page, not a Stripe page.
