Who can use Documents, and what does each permission allow?
ForLandlords
Who can do this
Landlords have full access. Organization access depends on the member's role.
Where to find it
Organization admins set role permissions in Settings → Roles & Permissions (see the Settings chapter).
Steps
- View Documents shows the Documents entry in the side navigation and lets the member open, download, select and see details of files.
- Upload Documents adds the New menu, Upload files and the drag-and-drop target.
- Edit Documents allows rename, edit links, move (including drag), share and archive.
- Delete Documents allows deleting files and Delete folder.
What happens next
Menus only show the actions the role allows. A member with only View Documents sees Open, Download, Select and Details.
Good to know
- Organization members restricted to some properties can be refused when they move or delete a folder that holds a file on a property outside their scope ("Couldn't move items" / "Couldn't delete folder", with the reason).
- Uploading and creating folders needs an active Kera subscription. Without one, Upload files opens the upgrade (paywall) dialog. Right after sign-in, New and Upload files show a loading state until the subscription check finishes; wait for them to enable.
- Owners have a read-only Documents page that lists only what was shared with them. Tenants have no Documents page.
Limits
Kera doesn't let you give one person access to a single file inside Kera except owners (through sharing). Team access is by role.
