How do I upload my own signed rent increase notice?

ForLandlordsProperty managers

Who can do this

Landlord, Organization admin, Organization members with Edit Leases.

Where to find it

How will you prepare the notice? → Upload a notice you already have.

Steps

  1. Choose Upload a notice you already have (the only choice outside Ontario, Newfoundland and Labrador and PEI).
  2. Press Continue.
  3. On Upload your signed notice, pick the signed PDF.
  4. Press Continue. Review reads "Kera saves your signed notice with the increase. It's already signed, so you'll serve it next."
  5. Press Create notice, then serve it.

What happens next

No Sign step ("You uploaded a signed notice, so there's nothing to sign"). Kera still tracks the increase, changes the rent on the effective date and writes the certificate. The Notices row is labelled with the province's form: "RTB-7 · Rent increase" (BC), "Form 1A · Rent increase" (Manitoba), or "Notice of rent increase" where there's no form number.

Good to know

British Columbia: "Kera can't fill RTB-7: Notice of Rent Increase... Complete and sign the official form, then upload it here." Yukon: Kera links the approved Yukon form at yukon.ca to download, complete and sign. Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Saskatchewan, Northwest Territories and Nunavut: prepare a written, dated and signed notice and upload it.

Troubleshooting

Upload your signed notice.: no file was chosen.
