How do I upload a document?
ForLandlordsProperty managers
Who can do this
Landlords, Organization admins, members with Upload Documents. Needs an active subscription.
Where to find it
Documents → New → Upload files (on a phone: bottom-right + → Upload files). Open the folder first to upload into it.
Steps
- Choose Upload files. The Add document form opens.
- Which file are you adding? Drag the file onto the box or click to choose one. Accepted: PDF, images (JPEG, PNG, WebP, HEIC), Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CSV or plain text, up to 25 MB.
- What should it be called? The Document name starts as the file name; change it if you like.
- Where does it belong? (optional) Pick a Property / Unit and, if you want, a lease. Leave it empty for an unlinked document.
- Select Add document.
What happens next
"Document added". The file lands in the folder you had open (or the top level). If you linked it to a property, it's automatically shared with that property's owners.
Good to know
Opened from a property, unit or lease page, the form fills in where it belongs.
Limits
This form takes one file at a time. To upload several files at once, drag them onto the page (next article).
Troubleshooting
- "Select a document to upload" means no file was chosen.
- "Couldn't upload document" with a reason such as an unsupported type or "File is too large. The maximum size is 25 MB." Choose a smaller or supported file.
- "Document added, but not shared with owners" means the upload worked but sharing failed; share it from the file's Share.
- Closing with unsaved answers asks "Close" ("The information you provided will be lost…").
