How do I select several files and act on them at once?

Who can do this

Anyone who can open Documents; the actions offered depend on the role.

Where to find it

Documents → a file's or folder's More actions → Select (or Cmd/Ctrl-click or Shift-click a row).

Steps

  1. Choose Select on the first item. Checkboxes appear on every row and card, and a bar "<n> selected" appears above the list.
  2. Click more rows or cards to add them; Shift-click selects a range.
  3. Use the bar: Move, Download, Share or Archive.
  4. To finish, untick the last item or select Clear selection (×).

What happens next

Archive asks "Archive <n> items?" and then shows "Archived <n> items" with "Find them under Archived." Move opens the Move dialog. Share opens "Share <n> items".

Good to know

While in select mode, clicking a folder selects it rather than opening it. If only folders are selected there is no Download. A member without Edit Documents sees only Download. Right-clicking any row opens the same menu as its More actions button.

Limits

Bulk sharing only adds access. To remove access, open one item's Share. Kera doesn't bulk-rename or bulk-delete files.
