How do I record a transfer between my bank accounts?

Who can do this
Landlord; Organization users with Create Transactions.
Where to find it
Accounting → ⋮ → Record Transfer.
Steps
- Which account is the money leaving?: pick the Source account.
- Which account is it going to?: pick the Destination account (the source is never offered).
- How much are you moving?: Amount.
- Why are you moving it?: Reason, Transfer type (General transfer or Fee sweep (trust to operating)) and an optional Memo.
- Click Record transfer.
What happens next
"Transfer recorded". Kera posts both sides through 1090 Transfers in Transit, so total cash doesn't change. The transfer appears in Transfer history.
Troubleshooting
- "No linked bank accounts · Link a bank account to record internal transfers.": add bank accounts first.
- "Link another bank account to move money between them.": you only have one account.
- "Enter a reason" / "Enter the amount" / "The amount must be greater than 0".
- "Transfer recorded in a closed period": it saved, but it's dated in a closed period. Reopen the period if it needs to change.
Limits
A transfer only records the movement in your books. Kera doesn't move money between banks.
