How does a tenant sign (or decline) an agreement to end the tenancy?
ForTenants
Who can do this
Tenant.
Where to find it
The signing email, or the lease's "Needs your signature" banner → Go to signing.
Steps
- Open the signing link or press Go to signing.
- Press Sign now, verify the emailed code, sign and finish.
- To refuse, choose decline in the signing page and give a reason.
What happens next
The row reads "Signed by <n> of <total>". When everyone has signed, the lease shows "This lease ends on <date> by mutual agreement." and everyone gets a copy. If a tenant declines, the agreement ends ("A tenant declined to sign, so the agreement ended. The lease is unchanged.").
Good to know
Paper agreements: "Your landlord will give you this agreement to sign on paper."
