How do inspection signatures work?
ForLandlordsProperty managersTenantsProperty owners
Who can do this
The landlord or manager (needs Edit Inspections), the tenant (when Tenant must sign was on) and the owner (when Owner must sign was on).
Where to find it
Inspections → the inspection → Signatures card
Steps
- The Signatures card shows "<n> of <m> signed" and a row per signer with Sent, Viewed or Signed.
- To sign, select Sign now. The first time, accept Consent to electronic signatures, then sign in the editor.
- To remind a signer, use Notify again (account holder) or Send a new link (guest) on their row.
- Select View audit trail to see when it was created, sent, viewed and signed.
- When everyone has signed, the inspection is Completed and the card reads "Everyone has signed." with Download signed document and Download certificate.
What happens next
You're emailed as each person signs, and everyone gets an email when all have signed. All signers sign in parallel. Full signing detail is in chapter 08 (Documents and e-signature).
Good to know
Inspections signed before the current signing system show an older card with "Signed" or "Not signed" per party and a Review and sign the report button.
Troubleshooting
"The report is still being prepared" / "Try signing again in a minute.": wait for the report to finish.
