How do I accept an applicant and make them a tenant?

Who can do this

Landlord, Organization admin, Organization members with Process Applications. Creating the tenant needs an active Kera plan.

Where to find it

Application (status Offer) → Actions → Accept application.

Steps

Click Accept application. The status saves as Accepted.
The Add tenant composer opens. Who is the tenant? is prefilled from the applicant's name. The first word is the first name and the rest is the last name, so check names with a middle name. How do we reach them? is prefilled with their email and phone.
Answer Invite them to the tenant portal? with Invite them or Not now, optionally add notes, then click Add tenant.
Open the new tenant and use Actions → Add lease to create their lease (Chapter 05).

What happens next

The application's main button becomes View property. Accepting doesn't email the applicant, create a lease, or close the property for applications. Turn off Open for tenant application yourself when the unit is filled.

Good to know

Without an active Kera plan, the application still changes to Accepted, but the plan paywall opens instead of Add tenant.

Troubleshooting

If the status save fails, you see Couldn't update the application status and Add tenant doesn't open. Try again.
Closing Add tenant without saving creates no tenant, and the application stays Accepted. To add the tenant later, use Tenants → Invite Tenant.
If the applicant's email already belongs to one of your tenants, you're offered Use <name>'s record or Add a new tenant anyway.
