Who can do this

Reference for everyone.

Where to find it

Your mailbox. Kera emails come from "Kera <notifications@getkera.com>". Most have a Manage notification settings link at the bottom; invitation and account-security emails don't.

Steps

  1. Account: "Welcome to Kera – Let's Get Started!" (new landlords), "Verify your email for Kera", "Reset your Kera password", "Your Kera sign-in email was changed", "Join <organization> on Kera" (team invite). See Chapter 01.
  2. Invitations: "<manager> invited you to Kera" (tenants), "<manager> invited you to Kera as a property owner" (owners), "You have a lease to review on Kera" (tenants with an account).
  3. Leases: "Tenant accepted the lease" (manager), "[Notice] Lease Termination Scheduled" / "[Notice] Lease Terminated", "Your tenant gave notice to end the tenancy" (manager), rent increase notices ("Notice of rent increase", "Your rent is changing"). See Chapters 05 and 06.
  4. Rent and payments: "Rent invoice for <period>" with Pay in Kera (tenants, when an invoice is ready to pay by hand), "Good news! Rent payment is all set" (tenants), "Payment received · <customer> (<amount>)" (managers), "Heads up: invoice <n> needs a little more attention" (extra card confirmation needed), "There's a hiccup with invoice <n>" (payment failed), "[Action needed] Online payments are on for <address>" and "Set up your rent payments" (tenants), deposit emails. See the accounting chapters.
  5. Weekly rent check-in (managers, Mondays 8:00 a.m. Toronto time): "Rent check-in: <n> leases need attention" when record-only leases have past-due rent with no payment recorded or no rent schedule. Record rent and Set up rent open the right place. Nothing is sent when nothing needs attention.
  6. Maintenance: "[Action required] New Maintenance Request: <subject>", "[Action required] Assigned to you: <subject>", "No longer assigned to you: <subject>", "Updated: <subject>". See Chapter 07.
  7. Signing: "You have a document to review on Kera", "It's your turn to sign on Kera", "<name> signed", "<name> declined to sign", completion emails, and reminders ("Still waiting on your signature"). See Chapter 08.
  8. Inspections: "Inspection ready for your sign-off", "Your inspection report is ready", "Inspection cancelled". See Chapter 07.
  9. Owners: "A bill needs your approval", "Owner Statement · <period> · <property>", "Add your bank account to get paid by <manager>".
  10. Messages and announcements: "[Action Required] New message on Kera", "[Action Required] A conversation was assigned to you", and announcement emails (subject = the announcement title).
  11. Applications and screening: see Chapter 04.

Troubleshooting

If an email is missing: check spam, check the recipient's Settings → Notifications, and check the address on their record. Kera can't resend most automatic emails on request; contact Kera support with the recipient, event and approximate time.
