What account types does Kera have?
ForLandlordsProperty managersTenantsProperty owners
Who can do this
Everyone. This is background for choosing how to sign up.
Where to find it
The account type is chosen on Which describes you best? during onboarding, or set automatically by an invitation.
Steps
- Read the four types below and pick the one that matches how the person works.
- Landlord ("Manage your properties, track rent, and stay on top of your investments."): a solo property manager running their own portfolio. Their data belongs to their own login. Landlord plans are priced by number of units.
- Property Manager, which creates an Organization ("Oversee multiple properties, streamline operations, and manage tenants with ease."): a property management company with staff, owners and trust accounting. The person who signs up becomes the organization's admin and can invite team members with roles. Organization plans are priced per seat.
- Tenant ("Pay rent, submit requests, and stay connected with your landlord."): a renter. Tenants use the tenant portal to see their lease, pay rent and send maintenance requests. Tenants are normally invited by their landlord or property manager.
- Owner: a property owner whose properties someone else manages. The Owner portal is read-only by design. Owners can't pick this type themselves; they get it from an owner invitation.
Good to know
The "Property Manager" card on the onboarding screen creates an Organization account. In the account menu and elsewhere in the app, Landlord and Organization users both work in the Landlord app.
Limits
An account type picked during onboarding can't be changed later in the app. See "What Kera can't do here".
