How does someone without a Kera account sign?
ForLandlordsProperty managersTenantsProperty owners
Who can do this
Guests (anyone emailed a signing link).
Where to find it
The email "You have a document to sign" → Review and sign (opens /sign/<id>).
Steps
- Open the link. The page shows Check your email and sends "Your Kera verification code: NNNNNN".
- Enter the 6-digit code in Verification code and continue. The code lasts 10 minutes.
- Read Consent to electronic signatures, tick the box and select Continue to document.
- On Sign document, fill the fields, draw or type the signature, Use this signature, and select Submit signature.
What happens next
"You're all signed" / "Thanks, your signature was recorded. You can close this page." with Create your free Kera account (optional). When everyone has signed, they get the signed PDF and certificate by email.
Good to know
Guests draw or type a new signature each time; they don't have a saved signature.
Troubleshooting
- Resend code sends a new code; the old one stops working.
- "That code didn't work. Check your email for the latest one and try again." After 5 wrong tries: "Too many attempts". Request a new code.
- "Link expired" / "This signing link has expired." Select Email me a new link: "If this signing request is still active, a new link is on its way to the email it was originally sent to." This is limited to 2 per 10 minutes ("Please wait a few minutes and try again from your email link."). Email links last 14 days; each reminder or resend has a fresh one.
- "Link invalid or expired": the link was replaced by a newer one; use the latest email, or ask the manager to Send a new link.
- "Not your turn yet": "It's not your turn to sign yet. We'll email you when it's your turn."
- "Already signed" / "You've already signed this document."; "Already completed" / "Everyone has already signed this document."
- "No longer available": the sender cancelled it.
